so, i've been on mandatory work leave (casual employee policy) since last Wed and have been trying to make the most of my time off. cooking a few new dishes here and there, trying to meet up with friends i haven't seen for quite a while, and the biggest project was helping Jen rearrange her furniture and redecorate. it's been a blast trying to figure out all the different ways five pieces can fit in a room, and imagining how you can develop a theme beyond that.

side bar - there is that common phrase, "God is good...all the time; and all the time...God is good". can we honestly say that we believe that regularly?

has it really been that long since i posted?

[v-day wasn't special (church council meeting scheduled, unfortunately), but the days following were...thanks <3 ]

well, Chinese New Year has come and gone, and what a great weekend!

• successfully managed to make "baked" leen go, and as a result, ended up making three batches over the course of a week.
• saturday was dinner at Jenny, Keith and Pres', and it was beyond yummy. a rare opportunity for three families to get together and catch up.
• after church on sunday, lunch at Banzai with Fion, Patrick, Stephen, Daphine, Cherry, Taryn, Teresa, Jack and the kids. we laughed so hard! not just the emo bit, but "hmm, what else do we want to eat?" (yes, it's one of those moments where you just had to be there)
• dinner at the Huang's after playing board games with Alister and peeling kumquats for Zoe (highlight? she can say all of my name now!)
• heading to the Siu's and staying till 2, watching "Beautiful Cooking" and laughing till we couldn't laugh anymore....is that even possible?
• memorable dim sum (my shoes sharing the space with chicken feet!)
• JYSK-ing with Fion and Daph
• "ringing in the new year" with the Wongs and the Mas, including Wii-ing with Pres and home reno talk
